About the Business

I started practising as a Massage Therapist in 1993 in Plymouth, Devon. I enjoyed it so much that I have gone on to study and qualify in Clinical Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head and Shoulder Massage and Reiki (a traditional form of healing). I have also undertaken an 18 month course in natural nutrition. I have had a varied and rewarding career, with over 18 years' experience and knowledge. I have worked alongside other healthcare practitioners, such as chiropractors in a multi-disciplinary centre. I spent a year as a practitioner at St Luke's Hospice in Plymouth and for Macmillan Cancer Care. I have also worked on community-based projects, treating the elderly and the socially disadvantaged.

Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is the art and skill of applying pressure and/or massage to specific areas of the feet called reflex points in order to affect health and vitality. These points correspond to different parts of the body. Hence, by working on particular areas you can have an effect on specific organs and systems in the body.

Reflexology can be used as a diagnostic tool alongside conventional medicine and as a therapy for treating many common ailments.

Reflexology and is designed to incorporate a prescription blend of essential oils added to a natural base cream. This has the added benefit of the therapeutic effects of Aromatherapy oils.

What to expect

I will start with a detailed consultation and then ask you to lie on the couch with your footwear removed.

Benefits

Reflexology is very relaxing and balancing. It can provide an excellent way of releasing stress and tension. It can also help with conditions including arthritis and muscular problems, insomnia, PMT, infertility and digestive and respiratory problems. Its gentle nature makes it particularly valuable in aiding recovery after illness.
